Parapsychology, which is also know as Psi Research, is the scientific study of reported interactions between organisms and their environment including other organisms recorded in a form that aims at order and intelligibility that cannot be easily explained by mainstream science as the interactions seem to violate ordinary constraints of time, space and/or force. These interactions are termed psychic events or psi. There is a morphic field, the universal field that connects all living species. The psychiatrist, Carl Jung, coined the word synchronicity which he believed meant that there was a connection between a private event and a larger public event.

Exceptional experiences are characterized by the transcendence above the ordinary. A person may experience a change in identity, a connection to the unexplainable and subsequent to the event the person develops a new way of being. Author Rhea White says that it is important to write about these exceptional experiences. Some examples of exceptional experiences are:
Alien Abductions
Apports (Physical objects that appear out of nowhere.)
Bilocation (The apparent appearance of a person in more than one location simultaneously.) For example, a mother experiences the appearance of her son in her kitchen, talks to him, hears him and feels him to be present while someone else is interacting with him at another location. This very often happens during times of war.
Conversion (The experience of being born again to a new way of being.)
Ecstasy
Enlightenment
Glossalalia (Speaking in Tongues)
Hauntings
Idiot Savant
Intuition
Lucid Dreaming
Out of Body experiences
Peak Performance
Poltergeist

There are four categories of Psi Research:
1. The exploration of Psi Phenomena

2. The demonstration of Psychic Phenomena

3. Process-oriented Psi Research uses interviews and examines the unconscious process that was going on during the Psi Event. It also studies geomagnetic events that may have influenced the Psi Events.

4. The application of Psi, for example, in the areas of health, finance and espionage.

Research that is done with psychic claimants attempts to find alternative explanations for the events. The dreams of the claimant are studied. Every attempt is made to explain the unexplainable events through our normal scientific parameters.

There are respected institutions of learning that seriously study psi phenomena. Among these are The Rhine Research Center, Durham, North Carolina; Princeton University, Anomalous Research Center; University of Nevada; University of Edenborough; American Society of Psychical Research; English Society of Psychical Research

Dr. Stanley Krippner, an eminent psychologist, dream researcher and scholar in the field of psychic research, has asked the question, what is the process for the application of psi events. Dr. Krippner taught the parapsychology students that during the time of solar flair ups there is an increase in psychic events. Additionally, we learned that everything tends to disorganize unless there is the law of love to organize it.
